PalmaThe Ibiza Town Hall and the Council of Ibiza have reported four cases of illegal tourist rental after inspecting 30 properties last week. These actions add to the 11 complaints for illegal tourist rental processed this year, according to the City Council. In addition, more than 27,000 euros in proposed sanctions related to transport have been imposed in joint controls.

The mayor of Ibiza, Rafa Triguero, has highlighted that the fight against intrusion is “an absolute priority” and recalled that these homes without a tourist license are not for vacationing. Sources from the City Council have also recalled that in June, the allegations submitted against a file from 2024 were dismissed, and therefore a sanction of more than 793,000 euros has been imposed upon proving the change of use of a residential dwelling to tourist use without an enabling title.

On the other hand, several controls on the illegal transport of passengers have detected infractions that have resulted in various proposed sanctions for a total amount of 27,400 euros. Among other cases, the Police drew up a proposed sanction report for providing a complementary service without authorization and another for soliciting clients at a taxi stand. Likewise, seven infractions were detected for exceeding the quota of rental vehicles and two for reckless driving.
