Woman arrested for violent death of a relative in Pere Garau

PalmaThe National Police have arrested a woman as the alleged perpetrator of the violent death of a relative of about 70 years of age in a home in Pere Garau. The events took place this Tuesday between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM in a dwelling located at number 17 on Benet Pons i Fàbregues street. As reported by sources close to the case to Europa Press, it was a common relative of the victim and the suspect who alerted the emergency services upon finding the lifeless body inside the apartment.

Upon arriving at the scene, several patrols from the Local Police of Palma located the suspect woman, about 35 years old, as she was trying to flee the building, at which point she was intercepted near the entrance. Subsequently, she was arrested by the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of a homicide offense. The victim and the detainee lived in the same home and had a family relationship, although they were not mother and daughter, according to the same sources. For now, the exact relationship has not been specified.

The Homicide Group of the Superior Police Headquarters of the Balearic Islands has taken charge of the investigation and continues to collect evidence and clues at the crime scene. The initial hypotheses point to a possible prior argument between the two, although the exact circumstances and the manner in which the death occurred have not been detailed. The detainee is awaiting to be brought before the police and to give a statement in the coming hours.
