They give beer to some goats in Cala Figuera and leave the cans on the ground

PalmaA video shows a group of people giving beer to goats in Cala Figuera, Mallorca, and then leaving the cans on the ground. The images, initially disseminated by the Instagram account Mallorca Viral, have caused numerous criticisms on social networks and have prompted public denunciation by the Foundation for Advice and Action in Defense of Animals (FAADA).

In the recording, several goats surround the group and one of the people brings a can to the mouth of one of the animals for it to drink. Meanwhile, other members of the group record the scene with their mobile phones. FAADA denounces that, afterwards, they abandoned the cans among the rocks.

"It is not fun. It is not a joke. And it is not tourism," warned the animal welfare organization. FAADA criticizes the vulnerability of animals being turned into a spectacle and recalls that nature is not a space where visitors can act without considering the consequences.

The organization also censures the abandonment of containers. In addition to the environmental impact, cans can pose a risk to goats, which may approach them, manipulate them, or injure themselves on the edges.

The images do not allow us to know how much beer the animals ingested or if it caused them any health problems. Nevertheless, giving them food or drinks without knowing their needs can alter their diet and behavior. Alcohol, if ingested in sufficient quantities, can cause poisoning and affect the nervous system and coordination.

FAADA has taken advantage of the case to call for more animal-friendly tourism. "Animals are not part of our entertainment," insists the foundation, which recommends observing them from a distance, not giving them food or drink, and not abandoning waste in natural spaces.
