PalmaA boat trip along the coast of Mallorca ended with an unexpected rescue. The people responsible for Mond Aventura found a black vulture chick in the sea that was having difficulty staying alive, and they approached it to pull it out of the water.

With the help of a member of La Cala Boat Tours, they managed to get the animal onto the boat and keep it safe until the technicians from the Consortium for the Recovery of Fauna of the Balearic Islands (COFIB) arrived, who have taken charge of it.

The black vulture is listed as a vulnerable species in Spain. Despite the recovery experienced in recent decades, it remains exposed to threats such as poisons, human disturbances in nesting areas, and the reduction of food resources. In the Balearic Islands, it only breeds in Mallorca, where it mainly nests on the cliffs and pine forests of the Serra de Tramuntana.
