"This establishment condemns the genocide in Gaza": the campaign for Palestine that also reaches Mallorca

The initiative aims to raise awareness of the genocide and show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

PalmEvery day, more and more people are deciding to do their part to demand an end to the massacre that Israel is carrying out in Palestine.

For several weeks now, several establishments in Bilbao and Madrid have begun joining a campaign promoted by 'Artists for Palestine' to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and bring visibility to the genocide. Now, the initiative is beginning to take hold in Mallorca after a group of citizens decided to extend their campaign there as well.

The poster, designed to be hung on the doors or windows of bars, shops, and other businesses, reads: "This establishment condemns the genocide in Gaza," and an image of a watermelon, representing the Palestinian flag. The creators also offer the possibility of personal use of the poster, with various versions designed to be used as a profile picture on WhatsApp or other social media platforms, in homes, offices, etc.

However, voices from the Mallorca-based initiative are calling for a boycott of the electronic music festival 'Elrow,' which will take place on August 30th in Son Fusteret, due to its ties to the Israeli fund KKR.

Flotilla heading to Gaza

Likewise, the Real Monastery will host a meeting with Saif Abukeshec, coordinator of the next Thursday 21st at 5 pm. Global Sumud Flotilla in Spain to organize the Balearic Islands' participation. The new flotilla, made up of a dozen vessels, plans to depart on August 31 from Barcelona with some 16,000 people on board.

After a massive mobilization in June 2025 and attempts by several individuals and organizations to break the siege by sea with the ship Madleen, by land with the Sumud Convoy and by air with thousands of participants in the Global March on Gaza in Cairo, the organizers themselves have decided to go further by launching a new mission that "mobilizes structures, unites people and sows the seeds of a future mass internationalist movement."
