Three arrested and 64 fined in a drug raid in Son Gotleu

The operation involved officers from the Palma Local Police and the National Police

PalmThe joint operation between the National Police and the Palma Local Police carried out last Thursday in Son Gotleu resulted in three arrests, 70 people identified, and 64 fines. Around 7:30 p.m., dozens of officers deployed to an area where several incidents had recently occurred and inspected two establishments and several vehicles. According to the police, in one of the inspected establishments, a man was arrested after being found with 16 packets of heroin hidden under a cap and in his trousers, as well as cash. In another establishment, a man was arrested who, upon noticing the police presence, went to the bathroom to try to dispose of nine bags of cocaine. The third person arrested was a man with a restraining order against his partner, with whom he was inside a bar.

In addition, 70 people were identified in the area cordoned off by the officers, and 64 administrative citations were issued. Thirteen of these were for drug possession and one for possession of a firearm. Of the remaining citations, five were issued to establishments that failed to display their licenses, lacked a technical project plan, or had sound systems exceeding the permitted decibel level. There were also four citations for vehicles operating without insurance; 17 for expired vehicle inspections; and 14 for traffic violations. Four of the vehicles were impounded. Furthermore, several individuals were cited for street vending. The operation involved 60 officers from both police forces.
