Balearic tourist bookings grow by 1.7% and consolidate the archipelago as one of the most in-demand destinations

The Islands remain the third most requested destination in Spain, with Spanish and British tourists leading the demand

PalmTourist bookings to the Balearic Islands have increased by 1.7% in the last week compared to the same period last year, according to data published by the Travelgate platform. Furthermore, demand has also grown by 0.9% compared to the previous week, a fact that confirms the upward trend as the high season approaches.

With 15% of total bookings, the Balearic Islands remain the third most in-demand destination in the country, only behind Catalonia, which accounts for 20.6% of bookings, and Andalusia, with 17.6%.

Regarding booking lead times, almost three out of ten trips (28.5%) were booked more than three months in advance. 15.1% were made between 31 and 60 days before, while 12.7% were booked between 15 and 30 days before the start of the trip. Last-minute bookings also continue to gain traction and now represent 12.1% of the total.

The data also shows that most trips are made by couples, who account for 52.6% of bookings. Additionally, 51.8% of tourists opt for stays of between two and five nights.

By origin markets, Spanish tourists lead demand with 42.3% of bookings. They are followed by Britons with 25.2%, while Germans (5.4%), French (3%), and Portuguese (2.9%) complete the ranking of main visitors.
