What to do for Sant Joan in Palma: correfocs, Xanguito and Flama de la Llengua in the Parc de la Mar
The celebration will begin at 8:00 p.m. with the lighting of the bonfire and will culminate with the concert by Xanguito after a great fire run with twelve fire groups
PalmaParc de la Mar will once again be the epicenter of the Sant Joan revelry in Palma this Monday with a program that will combine fire, music, popular culture, and a concert by Xanguito to close the night. The festival, organized by the Palma City Council, will bring together a dozen fire groups and hundreds of participants at the foot of the Cathedral in one of the most massive celebrations of the city's festive calendar.
The day will begin at 8:00 PM with the arrival of the flame of the language and the lighting of the Sant Joan bonfire. The Obra Cultural Balear (OCB), an entity that promotes this tradition linked to its own language and culture, will participate in the event.

Twelve fire groups in the great correfoc
One of the most anticipated moments of the night will be the main fire run, which will start at 10:30 PM. The groups Enfocats, Realment Cremats, Kinfumfa, les Germanies, Illa Galera, Maleïts Encabritats, Drac i Guardians de Sant Jordi, Òliba de la Real, el Drac de na Coca, Trabucats, el Cau del Boc Negre, and Incubus will participate.
As is customary for this type of event, it is recommended to attend wearing cotton clothing, long sleeves, a scarf around the neck, and closed-toe shoes to protect yourself from sparks and gunpowder.
The shortest night of the year
The Sant Joan vigil is one of the most deeply rooted popular celebrations in Mallorca and symbolizes the start of summer. Fire, demons, bonfires, and fire runs are part of a tradition that combines festive elements and rituals linked to the summer solstice.
In the case of Palma, the Parc de la Mar has established itself in recent years as the main stage for the festival, with a formula that combines Mallorcan popular culture, live music, and activities for all ages.
The vigil will culminate with the performance of Xanguito, one of the Mallorcan bands with the largest following in recent years, who will be in charge of providing the final soundtrack to Sant Joan's night in front of the Cathedral.
