Israel assures that the activists have been transferred to its territory after the night intervention. It states that on one of the boats there are "condoms and drugs".

PalmIsraeli authorities have detained nearly 175 activists who were on board vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla intercepted at dawn in international waters south of Greece, about a thousand kilometers from the coasts of the Gaza Strip and Israel. According to the Palestinian Solidarity Movement, among these detainees are two citizens from the Balearic Islands and, on the vessels near Crete, there are four more islanders.

"Approximately 175 activists from more than 20 flotilla vessels are now calmly heading to Israel," the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a social media message, hours after stating that "condoms and drugs" were on board one of the raided vessels.

It also published a video showing "activists having a good time on board the Israeli ships," after the same Global Sumud Flotilla reported that Israeli troops had intercepted a total of 22 vessels, with 36 still sailing around the Greek island.

The same flotilla has stressed that Israeli troops, who boarded dozens of its vessels in the Mediterranean Sea, have "disabled their engines" and left their crews trapped "due to the proximity of a massive storm", which it has described as "a death trap".

The flotilla took over from the boarding in international waters by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in October 2025, shortly after surpassing the threshold reached four months earlier by the vessel 'Madleen', also intercepted by Israeli troops.
