Two dead in a new traffic accident on the Santa Eulària highway

PalmThe two occupants of a motorcycle, a 26-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, died early Sunday morning in an accident involving a car that occurred at kilometer 4.5 of the Santa Eulalia highway (EI-200). It is the second fatal accident recorded at this point on the road this weekend, since on Saturday afternoon, near the Agricultural Cooperative, a woman died and her companion was seriously injured after colliding with a car.

According to SAMU 061, the driver of the car, a 58-year-old man, was seriously injured and had to be freed from the vehicle's mangled wreckage. He was evacuated to Can Misses Hospital with a reserved prognosis.

Emergency services received the call at 1:53 a.m. and dispatched two ambulances, one basic and one medicalized, to the scene. The two occupants of the motorcycle died instantly, and paramedics were unable to do anything other than certify the two deaths.

With these two fatalities, there are now three people who have died in recent hours in Ibiza while riding a motorcycle on the Santa Eulària road.
