To coordinate actions, the Technical Advisory Committee of the Meteobal Plan met this Monday with representatives of the Fire Brigades of the Consell de Mallorca and Ibiza, the Palma Fire Brigade, local police forces of Palma and Formentera, Aemet, Ibanat, Red Eléctrica, the Spanish Government Delegation and emergency technicians, among others.

The General Directorate of Water Resources has reported that no significant impacts are expected from the rising torrents, as they are currently clear and without water flow. However, the Ibanat (National Water Authority) has closed nine shelters and three camping areas as a precaution, while Palma City Council has activated its Special Municipal Emergency Plan.

Basic advice includes securing doors and windows, avoiding basements and garages, removing objects from outside that could be swept away by water, and turning off the electricity if water enters the home. Outside, it is advisable to stay away from torrents and flood-prone areas, seek shelter in buildings, and avoid walking through moving water. On the road, it is recommended to avoid unnecessary travel, drive with caution on main roads, and never drive through flooded areas.

The Civil Protection Department closes parks and gardens.

Palma City Council will close parks and gardens in response to the weather alert in Mallorca, activating the Municipal Territorial Plan (PlaterPalma) in the pre-emergency phase starting at 9:00 p.m.

As a preventative measure, access to all municipal parks will be closed starting at 10:00 p.m. this Monday, the City Council explained in a statement. All temporary markets scheduled in open-air areas are also suspended. These restrictions will be in effect throughout the alert period.

In addition, the City Council asks the public to minimize movement, avoid crossing streams or low-lying areas, not take shelter under trees, especially isolated ones, and secure doors, windows, and outdoor objects to prevent accidents caused by the wind.
