Would you buy a box without knowing what's inside? The phenomenon of lost packages arrives in Mallorca

PalmMallorca has joined a phenomenon that has already swept through various European cities: the purchase of lost packages without knowing their content until after paying for them. The company King Colis opened a temporary store this Monday at the Porto Pi shopping center, where it is selling packages from online commerce that have not reached their recipients. The pop-up will only be on the island for five days, from May 5 to 9.

The operation is simple and relies on surprise. Customers have ten minutes to choose the packages they want to buy and can only discover what is inside once they have paid. The products can be from very diverse categories: technology, fashion, or everyday items. The sales system is based on weight: 2.29 euros per 100 grams for the standard option and 2.99 euros for the premium one.

According to the company, these packages come from shipments that failed due to logistical issues or errors in delivery addresses. In these cases, the original buyers have already been refunded, and the items return to the sales circuit instead of being destroyed. Among the origin platforms are major e-commerce operators such as Amazon.

During the first hours of opening in Mallorca, some of the possible contents have already been seen: drones, digital cameras, projectors, clothing, or footwear. The experience has already been in cities like Madrid, Barcelona, or Bilbao, where it has gathered thousands of visitors.

In Mallorca, the company expects to sell about six tons of packages during the five days the pop-up will be open and receive nearly a thousand visitors daily. The space will remain active until May 9, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., on the ground floor of Porto Pi, in front of the Müller store.
