Fog causes delays at Palma airport and in the arrival of members of Parliament.
Low visibility procedures were activated this Tuesday, causing safety delays.
PalmThe fog that enveloped Mallorca in the early hours of Tuesday morning caused widespread delays at the airport, which, among other incidents, caused several members of parliament to arrive late to the Parliamentary plenary session.
According to information from Aena, delays for both inter-island flights and flights to the Iberian Peninsula and European cities have exceeded twenty, both in departures and arrivals. As the fog has cleared, the airport has gradually returned to normal.
However, with the activation of low visibility procedures, security delays will affect the entire day.
The fog over Mallorca has also caused some traffic difficulties. Specifically, there have been more traffic jams than usual on the MA-19, the Llucmajor motorway, between kilometers 13 and 8 towards Palma.
The fog's impact on air traffic has also caused delays in the arrival of several deputies from the other islands, which has forced a change in the order of questions to members of the Government during the control session.
