The INE confirms it: the Balearic Islands pulverized the record of foreign tourists this summer

PalmaThe Balearic Islands have received between January and August of this year a total of 11.7 million international tourists, 2% more than the same period in 2025, according to the data on Tourist Movements at Borders released this Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
In August alone, the Archipelago received 2.59 million international travelers, 2.56% more than the eighth month of last year. INE data also indicate that the Balearic Islands were the main destination for tourists, with 21.2% of the total.
Tourist spending
The Balearic Islands were also the autonomous community with the highest share of tourist spending in August, with 22.8% of total spending. Thus, this amounted to 4.065 billion euros, 4.17% more than the previous year, and the average spending per tourist reached 1,566 euros in the Islands, 1.57% more than in 2025.
Specifically, the average daily spending per tourist was 243 euros in the Balearic Islands, 10% more. Trips had an average duration of 6.44 days in the Islands, 7.71% less than the same period the previous year.
