PalmaThe 37th edition of the Setmana del Llibre en Català (Week of Books in Catalan) will take place from September 24 to 27 in the gardens of La Misericòrdia with the participation of seven bookstores and the representation of Mallorcan publishers. The Gremi de Llibreters de Mallorca (Mallorcan Booksellers' Guild), organizer of the event, has highlighted in a press release that the new edition invites attendees to "sit with the great names of literature" through a poster inspired by the statue of Josep Maria Llompart inaugurated a few months ago in Carrer dels Oms in Palma.

In the poster, with the starting point of the bench where the Mallorcan writer sits, Estudi Randa and the illustrator Clara-Iris have configured a long bench transformed into a senyera (Catalan flag), on which Llompart, Mercè Rodoreda, Miquel Àngel Riera, Vicent Andrés Estellés, and Maria Antònia Oliver, among others, are seated. As explained by the Gremi de Llibreters, the poster reflects the essence of the event, which for more than three decades has offered a space through which some of the most outstanding names in Catalan literature pass, year after year.
