PalmaThe Xavier Fiol gallery in Palma hosts, from this Friday, June 19th, until July 10th, an exhibition dedicated to photojournalism made entirely by professionals from Mallorca. The exhibition brings together 14 images that capture impactful moments of current events, from extreme meteorological phenomena to scenes of great social and political weight.

The exhibition highlights the ability of photojournalists to capture unique moments and tell stories through their lens. The organizers emphasize that the photographs reflect the diversity of a profession marked by speed, uncertainty, and commitment to the facts, where on the same day one can go from immortalizing how the fog draws an infinite waterfall in the morning to documenting a situation of great human drama and, very often, between one image and the next, they have been asked for a photo to illustrate how hot it is in Palma.

In a context of the rise of artificial intelligence and digitally generated images, the exhibition claims the role of photojournalists as "notaries of current events" and the importance of an "honest and rigorous" view of reality.

Participating are Rafael Blanc, Miquel A. Borràs, Isaac Buj, Catalina Cladera, Javier Fernández, Joan Lladó, Manu Mielniezuk, Tomàs Moyà, Damià Prohens, Bartolomé Ramon, Jaime Reina, Alejandro Sepúlveda, Francisco Ubilla and Ismael Velázquez.
