Controversy over interim appointments: "Some positions were leaked before they became official"

The SIAU union assures that some applicants had early access to the positions and criticizes that Education does not publish the complete list of awards

PalmaThe Independent, Autonomous and United Union (SIAU) has reported alleged irregularities this Monday in the main process of awarding positions to interim teaching civil servants. The union assures that some applicants would have known their destination days before the Ministry of Education officially published the awards, a situation it considers contrary to the principles of equality and transparency that should govern this procedure.

According to the organization's statement, the awards would have been repeatedly leaked since last Friday, while the official publication did not occur until this Monday. This, they affirm, would have allowed some teachers to know their awarded position in advance, while the rest of the applicants continued waiting for the official resolution.

The union maintains that this situation creates a comparative disadvantage among the participants in the process and demands explanations from the Ministry about the origin of the alleged leaks. In its opinion, any award that affects the professional future of thousands of people should be made public simultaneously and with the same guarantees for all applicants.

Criticism for the disappearance of the complete list

Beyond the alleged leaks, SIAU also criticizes a change in the publication of the results. As it explains, this year Education has stopped disseminating the document in PDF format with the complete list of all adjudications, a practice that had been maintained in previous calls.

Instead of this document, applicants must consult the adjudications using filters by body, specialty, educational center, or teacher. The union considers that this system makes it difficult to consult the results globally and reduces the transparency of the process, as it prevents a quick verification of all adjudications.

For this reason, the organization demands that the Ministry re-publish the complete list of adjudications and explain the circumstances that, as it denounces, have allowed the leaks before the official publication.

A process that generates criticism again

The union also recalls that during the application submission period, a technical incident occurred that affected the server's operation, a situation that, it assures, has been repeated in different processes in recent years. Despite this, it considers that the most serious fact of this call are the alleged leaks prior to the official resolution.

SIAU concludes that the awarding process continues to drag on organizational problems and calls for a "transparent, safe, and respectful" procedure for the thousands of interim teachers who await the resolution of their destinations each summer.
