Vera announces new regulations for the allocation of teaching positions
The announcement comes after two consecutive years of problems in the interim processes.

PalmThe Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, has announced that he will draft new regulations for allocating staff positions and will change the software used to distribute them. This is one of the measures the Minister announced in response to criticism from PSIB MP Amanda Fernández regarding the personnel issues at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. These include, for example, the difficulties temporary workers have had in accessing the procedures, the fact that up to four different allocations were made in the first substitution process, and so on. Alba Borrasca, for example, had a position in the first allocation, and close to her home. In the last, she lost it. Vera explained that, in response to the criticism, he offered "respect, dialogue, and dialogue," but insinuated that Fernández had lied in her speech, asserting that "lying is a sin" and that, as a Catholic, he is "clear on that point."
The Socialist MP responded that "as a Catholic" he should listen to the Bishop of Mallorca, Sebastià Taltavull, who has positioned himself in favor of the rights of minors and opposed to the anti-human rights policies that, according to her, the Catalan government is implementing. She also criticized Vera for being "on vacation all summer" because he didn't appear (...) in response to the problems with the contract awards, and therefore described the course planning as "chaos."
Vera responded that the same complaints teachers are now making were also received by the Pacte government. The minister also boasted about the staffing figures with which this school year begins. "Free and universal education belongs to those who implement it, not to those who politicize it every four years," he emphasized.
