PalmA man has been arrested in Palma as the suspected perpetrator of drug trafficking and electricity fraud after police dismantled a marijuana plantation with 116 plants in an apartment in the Santa Catalina neighborhood. The operation was carried out by Group II of the Narcotics Unit, which had been investigating the activity at the residence for several days. The residence was allegedly being cultivated and prepared for sale. Prior surveillance confirmed the existence of the plantation, as well as the presence of equipment specifically designed for intensive cultivation. According to police reports, the strong odor emanating from the apartment indicated the scale of the operation. With a court order, officers entered the apartment and seized the plants, approximately 25 grams of a white powder awaiting analysis (possibly a cutting agent), and a revolver with one cartridge, which was hidden under a sofa. Inside the house, air compressors and other devices used to optimize cultivation were also found. Furthermore, the electrical installation was irregular and had been crudely tampered with. The utility company confirmed that it was an illegal connection, constituting the crime of electricity fraud. The detainee was taken to police headquarters and is under investigation for drug trafficking and electricity fraud.
