PalmaThe Director General of Agriculture, Fernando Fernández, has resigned from his position for personal reasons and will be replaced by Georgina Brunet. This was reported by the first vice-president and government spokesperson, Antoni Costa, at a press conference this Friday.

Fernández was appointed Director General in 2021 by the Podemos minister Mae de la Concha. But later, the PP minister Joan Simonet ratified him in the position. Brunet had been manager of the Institute for Agri-food and Fisheries Research and Training (IRFAP) since 20219, an body attached to the Ministry.

She was also manager of the Camp Mallorquí cooperative and held management positions at the Agroilla Agri-food Corporation.
