The PP and Vox boast about the latest poll that gives them the majority in the Balearic Islands
The Populars would remain only two seats short of an absolute majority
PalmaParliamentary groups have reviewed this Monday the latest survey The PP spokesperson, Sebastià Sagreras, expressed his "satisfaction" with the results, although the party would still depend on the far-right to govern. "There are only two possible scenarios, one in which the PP is close to an absolute majority and one where it would approach an absolute majority, but would still have to reach agreements," he explained. Thus, he insisted that, for now, the left would be incapable of building an alternative governing majority: "The PSIB is sunk".
In this regard, the Vox spokesperson, Manuela Cañadas, boasted about what Vox "has achieved" during the three years of the legislature and highlighted the repeal of the democratic memory law, the liberalization of land for more construction, and the imposition of "national priority" for access to social aid. "Imagine what we could do with more: when Vox is involved, things change," she assured. The poll suggests that the far-right, which in 2023 obtained 13.9% of the votes, would now reach 17.8%.
The PSIB deputy Amanda Fernández avoided commenting on the poll, according to which the socialists would go from 18 to 14 seats. Thus, she limited herself to saying that they would examine its methodology. However, she recalled that there is still a year until the elections: "We are working on the ground, we are activated." Meanwhile, at MÉS per Mallorca, Maria Ramon applauded that the poll attributes a slight growth to them: they would go from 8.4% of the 2023 votes to the current 9%, although they would maintain the same number of seats. "We will listen and demonstrate that we have the project and we are the alternative to the PP," she said.
