PalmThat of an "opposition party." This is how Manuela Cañadas defined the role that Vox will play during the general policy debate that begins this Tuesday and will run until Wednesday. The spokesperson for the far-right parliamentary group has warned the Popular Party that they will clash during the debate. Despite the fact that Vox has so far guaranteed the stability of the Government and facilitated the approval of two budgets, it has not made it easy.

After the PP refused to accept a bill to promote the use of Spanish in schools, Vox rejected the executive's decree-law to accelerate projects, which has left projects such as the private medical university on holdCañadas has called on the PP to comply with the budget agreement, which establishes the inclusion of Spanish as a vehicular language in the Education Law. The PP has stated that it agrees, but the text presented by Vox goes beyond this agreement, crossing red lines such as the Minimum Decree and the Language Normalization Law, and therefore cannot accept it. Cañadas, on the other hand, warned on several occasions that he does not intend to water down his proposal and denounced the PP's "blockage" of the law. Thus, Cañadas warned that Vox's votes "must be respected." "We'll see what the citizens say when they have to vote," he asserted.

The PSIB spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, also addressed the university and expressed doubts that, despite the fact that the decree law has not been validated, the center will be able to move forward. In the same vein, he accused Marga Prohens's administration of "easing construction in flood-prone areas." He also warned that it gives little "credibility" to the announcements the president may make during the debate, since commitments expressed in the previous debate, such as the increase in the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS), the water fee, and the rental car tax, have not been fulfilled. The spokesperson for MÉS for Mallorca, Lluís Apesteguia, expressed a similar sentiment, expressing his fear that the president will focus on immigration to avoid addressing "real problems" facing citizens, such as homelessness and overcrowding in tourism.

For his part, PP spokesperson Sebastià Sagreras responded to the opposition by stating that these are "the main problems inherited" from the previous government. Regarding Vox, he emphasized that the PP has managed to approve "all the spending ceilings and budgets," despite the tensions. "We are not worried about the hostility," he explained.
