PalmaMÉS per Palma has accused the City Council of "imposing a gag" on residents after the removal of a campaign against noise that several associations had placed in some neighborhoods of the city.

It was the Palma Firefighters, the party indicated in a statement, who removed the posters denouncing the "incivility" suffered by residents.

For the eco-sovereignists, it is another example of the "authoritarian drift" of a government team "that reacts to criticism by exercising censorship".

"When the residents of Santa Caterina, la Llotja-Born, el Jonquet and the Passeig Marítim demand solutions to the noise, the PP ignores them. And when they publicly denounce this situation, their response is to impose a gag on them," criticized the spokesperson for MÉS per Palma, Neus Truyol.

The eco-sovereignists have considered it "especially serious" that this attempt to "silence" residents occurs at the same time as the City Council "continues to dedicate significant resources and efforts to protecting interests linked to the tourism business and economic activities that generate conflicts in the neighborhoods".

The residents' demands on issues such as housing, tourist saturation, coexistence, and quality of life "remain unanswered" while Cort "acts with extraordinary speed when it comes to defending certain economic interests", they insisted.

"They are always there to promote mass tourism and protect businessmen. On the contrary, the residents who suffer from it only receive silence and now also censorship. This fact perfectly explains the PP's priorities", reiterated Truyol.
