Koldo contacted Marc Pons about the license for the company in the hydrocarbon case.
The People's Party (PP) is demanding an explanation from the Socialist Party regarding its involvement in the plot, and the PSIB maintains that it "did not respond."
Palm"Good morning. I can see you for 15 seconds to give you the paperwork I mentioned regarding the application," Koldo wrote to Marc Pons on July 8, 2021, three months after sending him a photograph with the receipt for the electronic registration of Villafuel's application. These are messages to which Europa Press had access and which were intercepted by agents of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard and incorporated into the hydrocarbons case, according to the agency. Villafuel is the company that, according to the investigation, is at the epicenter of an alleged multi-million-dollar fraud in the hydrocarbon sector.
The PP immediately came forward when the news broke and demanded that Pons "stop being bitter" at the press conference following the parliamentary spokespersons' meeting this Wednesday. The Popular Party demanded that the Socialist deputy provide explanations for his involvement in the Koldo case, while the PSIB stressed that Pons "did not reply" to Koldo García's messages.
The PP spokesperson, Sebastià Sagreras, referred to the messages intercepted by the UCO and published this Wednesday by The reason and Europa Press, in which the advisor to the former Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos, writes to him asking the deputy to attend to a request from a hydrocarbon company owned by businessman Víctor de Aldama.
Pons was then chief of staff to the former Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, and previously served as Minister of Territory, Energy, Mobility, and Housing. The People's Party (PP) expressed its "concern" that the "Koldo plot could spill over" into the Balearic Islands and criticized his failure to appear at a press conference this Wednesday as deputy spokesperson for the PSIB (Balearic Socialist Workers' Party) following the publication of this information.
Sagreras indicated that the citizens of the islands "deserve to know what contacts he had with Koldo," what issues they discussed, whether they had any effect, and whether, in addition to these arrangements, he carried out any similar procedures in other institutions governed by the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party).
According to the chats, Koldo García and Víctor de Aldama organized the meeting that their partners, Claudio Rivas and Carmen Pano, also businessmen and defendants in the case, held with Juan Ignacio Díaz Bidart, chief of staff to the then Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto. It was de Aldama who, on December 28, 2020, wrote to Ábalos' advisor to tell him that Rivas and Pano were planning to "set up a marketing company" and attached information such as the company name: Villafuel.
