The former mayor of Manacor Rafel Muntaner dies

PalmaThe former mayor of Manacor, Rafel Muntaner, died this Friday. The President of the Government, Marga Prohens, has conveyed her condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues in a message published on social media. “He was a benchmark for the sporting, social, and cultural life of Mallorca,” she wrote.
Prohens has defined Muntaner as "a man committed to Manacor who dedicated a large part of his life to his great passions", among which sport stands out. "He promoted clubs, competitions and initiatives that have left a lasting mark on our Islands", he considered.
His career was recognized in 2006 by the Government, which awarded him the Cornelius Atticus, the highest sporting distinction of the Autonomous Community.
