PalmThe Balearic Islands PP (PP) began this Saturday the renewal of the local councils of the G10, made up of the ten most populated municipalities in the Islands, and the mayor of Marratxí, Jaume Llompart, has been re-elected as president of the Marratxí group.

In a press release, the Balearic Islands PP has announced that it will begin the process of renewing the local councils this weekend, as announced by the president of the party, Marga Prohens, in mid-September to the regional executive committee and the board of directors with the aim of strengthening the territorial structure2 and consolidating the project.

The renewal of the local boards of the so-called G10 began this Saturday in Marratxí, made up of the ten most populated municipalities in the Islands and which, along with Marratxí, includes Palma, Ibiza, Calvià, Manacor, Santa Eulària, Llucmajor, Inca, Ciutadella, and Maó. At today's meeting, the mayor of the municipality, Jaume Llompart, was re-elected as president of the group and Carmen Cañellas, a member of Parliament, as secretary. The event, held this Saturday at noon in Les Cases Noves Park, was attended by the President of the Balearic Government and the PP (People's Party of the Balearic Islands), Marga Prohens; the general secretary, Sandra Fernández; and the general coordinator, Sebastià Sagreras.

Thus, Prohens asked the board members to redouble their work and increase their presence on the streets. "Come to serve, to give your all, and to defend all citizens in any circumstance and above ideologies and political affiliations," he reminded them. In this sense, he asked that Marratxí be prepared so that the 6,000 votes obtained in 2023 "are multiplied" in order to achieve "a better electoral result so that we can work even harder from the Government" to continue lowering or eliminating taxes, increasing spending on social, health, housing, and education policies, among others.

For his part, Jaume Llompart recalled in his speech that "four years ago" they found themselves "faced with an enormous challenge: relaunching the party." "We were coming from difficult times, but we had a clear and shared objective: to regain the trust of the people of Marratxí. And we did it with enthusiasm, with work, and with the firm conviction that Marratxí deserved much more, and that the Popular Party was the only one capable of offering stability, management, and a future," he recalled.
