PalmaThe National Police and the Local Police of Palma deployed a police operation this Thursday in the Son Banya neighborhood. The objective was to attack drug trafficking and demolish the characteristic wall painted with the Spanish flag that the inhabitants of the neighborhood painted for the Football World Cup.

According to information provided by police forces, agents from the Local Police of Palma and the Unit for Drugs and Organized Crime of the National Police (Udyco) are participating. For the moment, police sources point to the arrest of a total of seven people and the demolition of seven small houses used for the sale of narcotic substances. A total of nine points of sale have been dismantled.

Police officers have confiscated different quantities of heroin, cocaine, hashish, marijuana, and erectile dysfunction pills, as well as cash. For their part, personnel from the Palma City Council are analyzing the possible commission of urban planning violations.

Various municipal areas and services participated in the operation, including Urban Planning, and more than 30 agents from the Palma Local Police belonging to the Immediate Intervention Unit (UII), the Integral Security Unit (Usei), the Drone Unit (UDRP), and the Motorized Unit (Umot) were involved. Within the framework of the operation, the Local Police filed four complaints for driving without a valid Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) and without mandatory insurance, and proceeded to the removal of a vehicle. A case of unauthorized passenger transport was also reported, which led to the immobilization and removal of the vehicle involved, and a criminal report was filed and sent to the court for a presumed minor offense of theft.

From the National Police, approximately one hundred agents from different units participated, including the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police, the Unit for Drugs and Organized Crime (UDYCO), the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), and air assets.
