PalmaThe The mayor of Campos, Francisca Porquer (PP), has caused the week's controversy after interrupting the reading of the manifesto Sunday ecologist at Es Trenc (Mallorca). A behaviour that even the president Marga Prohens he criticized. But it is not the first time that Porquer has been at the center of the hurricane. These are some of the media moments that the mayor has starred in.

Damm declares 'persona non grata'

The Campos City Council, led by Francisca Porquer, was forceful against the Damm group after the announcement of the closure of Agama (the main dairy company in the Balearic Islands) in March 2026. Unanimously, the plenary session declared the company that owns Agama persona non grata in the municipality. Furthermore, Porquer called on citizens not to consume Damm products. "Since they have shown this contempt for the farmers, who are the heart of our peasantry, we do not consider them welcome in our town," she said in statements collected by Diario de Mallorca.

Speaks with a portrait of Felipe VI during the plenary session

"Royal Majesty, forgive them because they ask you for apologies". These were the words that Porquer, pronounced before the portrait of Felipe VI after the nationalist party MÉS per Campos presented a motion in defense of the Catalan language at the municipal plenary session of May 2024. The proposal urged the Royal House to "immediately withdraw the title of 'Royal' from the Academy of Balearic Language, apologize and recognize the linguistic unity of Catalan", and also proposed that the City Council "reaffirm its commitment to the native language, which is in a disadvantaged situation". Faced with this motion, Porquer addressed the representatives of MÉS and assured them that the "only" ones who should apologize were them for "the mockery and insults they have made against the Royal House".

He says that free public transport causes insecurity

Last April, Porquer attributed an assault on a 93-year-old man to the free public transport. In an interview on RTVE he explained that, since it doesn't cost money, it makes it easier for people from outside to arrive in the municipality, commit crimes, and then leave quickly. "Maybe he wasn't from Campos," he explained with reference to the alleged attacker, even though he also admitted that his identity was unknown and, therefore, he had no proof.

Invites the opposition to host migrants "at their homes"

During a plenary session in September 2025, Porquer once again made headlines when, during a session, he placed blank sheets on the table and invited opposition councilors who supported the reception of migrant minors to sign up for a list to "host them in their own homes". As reported by the digital outlet Okdiario, Porquer thus argued his anti-immigration stance.

Attack against the graffiti in Trenc

In 2020, Porquer was belligerent against the graffiti protesting the tourist overcrowding done on the machine gun nests of El Trenc. He sent the municipal brigade to erase them and accused the government of Francina Armengol of "complicit silence" with those who had made them. Curiously, this topic has returned to the news in recent days. During the human chain to defend the protection of El Trenc, Porquer denounced that graffiti had reappeared on the machine gun nests.
