BarcelonaThe Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has requested the criminal chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia to indict Catalan parliamentarian O. P. F. as the possible perpetrator of a bribery offense, in a separate piece to the ITV case.

Along with the aforementioned parliamentarian, his wife, A.V.M., and businessmen R.P.V. and S.A.J. are also implicated.

According to the prosecution, the possible offense attributed to O.P.F. was committed during the parliamentary processing of the industrial safety law, published in the Official Gazette of the Parliament on July 23, 2008. According to prosecution sources, during the course of the ITV case investigations, it was allegedly discovered that one of the businessmen had asked Pujol for a favorable vote for his interests and that O.P.F. had asked for 30,000 euros.

O.P.F. is already indicted in the ITV case for an offense of influence peddling. According to the TSJC, he allegedly used his “political weight” to obtain economic benefit for himself and his “friends”. According to the high court, everything indicates that Pujol allegedly used his role as general secretary of CDC and, above all, as president of his parliamentary group to “coordinate and direct” the rest of the indicted individuals in the scheme and “support them” to achieve the awarding of a lot of ITVs, which violates the right to free competition.
