They report that Santa Eulària left a budget of 100,000 euros for animal welfare unexecuted

PalmaThe territorial representative of PACMA in Ibiza, Olivier Hassler, has filed a complaint with the Special Accounts Commission of the Santa Eulària des Riu City Council (Ibiza) for the total lack of execution of item 22.627, named 'Animal Welfare Plan'. This had a final allocation of 100,000 euros for the fiscal year 2025, but it closed the year with an execution of 0 euros, for which reason the political party has requested that municipal intervention certify the real status of these funds and that the Special Accounts Commission investigate and justify why no amount was finally allocated.

"Something is being done very wrong if 100,000 euros are budgeted for animal welfare and zero are executed, as if there were no need or interest in the matter," explained the coordinator. "Citizens have the right to know what has happened with these funds, as many continue to bear expenses out of their own pockets to care for street animals," he points out.

PACMA considers that this case evidences a "serious lack of commitment and transparency" in the management of public resources destined for animal protection. The political party will also transfer this information to its Balearic delegation to reinforce the review of similar items in other municipalities of the Balearic Islands.
