A 66-year-old man dies while diving in El Toro.

PalmA 66-year-old man died this Sunday while scuba diving in the waters of the Toro area (Calvià). At the time of the incident, around 1:30 p.m., the victim was diving with his partner and, feeling ill, returned to the boat waiting for them on the surface, where he went into cardiac arrest, according to Europa Press.

The boat took the man to the Santa Ponça Yacht Club, where medical services were dispatched and performed resuscitation maneuvers for 20 minutes, although they were unable to save him.

Civil Protection and Civil Guard officers were also dispatched. The armed force has taken over the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident. An autopsy will be performed in the coming hours to determine the cause of death.
