PalmThe president of the Mallorcan Council, Llorenç Galmés, presided over the 2025 Honors and Distinctions presentation ceremony before nearly a thousand attendees. Galmés praised "the spirit of self-improvement of the Mallorcan people" and emphasized that the awardees are "tireless pioneers who have left a living legacy that endures."

The gala was enlivened with a recital.
Music was one of the stars of the night.

The island's highest awards have recognized the careers and contributions of 25 individuals and organizations who have excelled in areas such as culture, sports, solidarity, business, and heritage protection.

Madò Pereta has received one of the Jaime II awards.

Medals of Honor and Gratitude of the Island of Mallorca:

Dr. Joan Carulla, Little Sisters of the Poor, Garden Hotels, Association of Friends of the Balearic Islands Railway (AAFIB), Mujeres Marjaleras de Sa Pobla, Francesc Pomar, Toni Frontera, Joan Company Florit, Pau Cladera Marroig, Licores Moyà, Cafés Bay, Francesc Antich and Jeroni Albertí y Picorn.

Forn des Pla de na Tesa, Association for Sport for Equality, Alfàbia Gardens, Mountain Rescue Group of the Council of Mallorca, Álex Sánchez Palomero, Siloé Association, Embat Llibres, Association of Friends of the Castle of San Carlos and Madò Pereta.

Llorenç Galmés and Luis Maraver, Adopted Son of Mallorca.

Adopted Son of Mallorca:

Luis Maraver. For his distinguished career as a visual artist based in Mallorca since 1972.

Joan Llull, Favorite Son of Mallorca.
Lluís Alemany Pujol has been posthumously named Favorite Son.

Favorite Sons of Mallorca:

Joan Llull, founder of Hipotels Hotels & Resorts, for his pioneering career leading the development of tourism in the Levante region of Mallorca; and Lluís Alemany Pujol, for his contribution to the political, social, and cultural development of Mallorca.

During his speech, Galmés compared the passion of the award winners to "the same passion with which Miquel Costa i Llobera wrote The Formentor Pine"He emphasized that Mallorca faces current challenges such as demographic pressure and resource saturation, but "with effort and passion, it will build a better future."
