Fifteen Mallorcan football clubs join the Correllengua Hermanado 2026
FC Barcelona and RCE Mallorca also support the initiative in defense of the Catalan language.
PalmRCE Mallorca, Atlético Baleares, UE Poblera, CE Constancia, CE Andratx, UE Porreres, UE Petra, CEA Llubí, CE San Jorge, UEF Santa María, CE Felanitx, CE s'Horta, CE Xilvar and CE Xilvar, FC María de la Salud and CE 2026, an initiative that will travel through Catalan-speaking territories in defense and promotion of the language.
With this addition, some fifteen Mallorcan clubs, along with FC Barcelona, join the more than 1,000 entities that support the Correllengua Agermanat in Catalan-speaking territories. "The goal is to strengthen the commitment to linguistic normalization and to promote Catalan as a central language, also in the areas of sports and leisure," say sources from Joves de Mallorca por la Llengua (Youth of Mallorca for Language).
It's worth remembering that the 2026 Correllengua Hermanado (Twin Language Run) will take place from April 19th to May 5th, 2026, covering more than 1,500 kilometers, passing through some 500 municipalities and stopping in about eighty towns. For the first time, the route will run from Prada de Conflent to Alghero, passing through cities such as Valencia, Palma, and Barcelona. The organizers state that the participating clubs stand out for their deep historical roots in the region, with some boasting over a century of history, thus reaffirming their commitment to the language and culture of Mallorca.
