One of the highlights is the choral concerts, which once again fill Palma with Christmas carols and live music.
PalmThe Palma City Council has organized an extensive program to celebrate Christmas 2025, aiming to offer a diverse and participatory festive experience designed for all ages. In total, more than 300 activities have been scheduled, combining tradition, culture, music, and commercial activities.
The celebrations began a few days ago with the inauguration of the Cort Nativity Scene, which can be visited until January 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. They will continue with the traditional lighting ceremony, which this year is taking place for the first time in Plaça d'Espanya with the inaugural show. The dance of the two stars.
Palma will also have other nativity scenes spread throughout the city during the Christmas holidays, such as the one of the Virgen del Rocío Brotherhood, the one of the Misericordia, the one of the Council of Mallorca, the one of the church of San Antonio Abad, the one of the church of San Roque, the one of the Purísima Concepción church, the one of the Santa Catalina market, the one of the Palma Military History Center, the one of the Santa Catalina Thomàs parish, the one of the Barceló Foundation and the monumental one of Sant Antoniet, among others.
For its part, PalmaActiva, in agreement with local business associations, has also launched a major campaign this year with 138 activities under the slogan 'Local businesses light up Christmas,' expanding on last year's offerings with more events and extended hours. The program will run from December 21st to January 3rd, 2026, and will also include morning activities on weekends and during school holidays.
One of the highlights is the choral concerts, which, thanks to their great popularity, will once again fill Palma with Christmas carols and live music. There will be 16 concerts in emblematic locations such as Plaça de Cort, Passeig del Born, Plaça de la Porta Pintada, Plaça del Mercat, Huerto del Rei, Can Pastilla, and Son Ferriol. The first concert will take place this Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., featuring the Rojos de la Seu and Palma Gospel Singers choirs.
There will also be traveling activities such as brass bands, elves and royal pages, in addition to flashmobs in streets and neighborhoods such as Blanquerna, Nuredduna, San Miguel, Bonaire, Jaime III, La Rambla, the municipal markets and the areas of Corte, El Borne, Can Pastilla, Son Ferriol, Son Rapinya-La Vileta and other commercial areas.
Among the static activities, storytelling stands out, photocalls with the royal page, Santa Claus in a sleigh, craft workshops (including clay) and face painting, available at points such as Santa Pagesa square, Nuredduna, the square of Health, the Rambla, the park of the Stations, the Born promenade, Cort square, Spain square, Plaza Mayor and Son Rapinyala.
And as a new feature this year, the 'Piano in the City' initiative is being incorporated, which will allow anyone to sit down and play a piano installed in emblematic spaces such as Cort, San Miguel, La Rambla, El Born and Plaza del Marqués del Palmer.
Activities in neighborhood centers
The various neighborhood centers in Palma will also host Christmas activities such as postcard exchanges, craft workshops, hot chocolate events, food and toy drives, carol concerts and karaoke; and, for their part, the municipal libraries will offer talks, workshops and special reading clubs for this time of year.
The municipal theaters have also prepared a varied Christmas program with plays, children's shows and musical performances, while the Casal Solleric, Can Balaguer, Espai Cor and the Fundación Miró Mallorca will offer top-level workshops, concerts and exhibitions.
This year's Christmas program also includes activities aimed at older people, such as city train tours organized by trade associations and tourist bus routes to enjoy and visit the Christmas lights.
The program is complemented by sporting events open to the public, such as the March for Equality, skating festivals, children's races and outdoor areas dedicated to Christmas crafts and clay workshops.
The institutional calendar will continue on December 30th with the Mass, the singing of the Salve Regina, and the floral offering to the Virgin. On December 31st, the traditional raising of the royal standard commemorating the conquest of Mallorca and the summit of King Martin will take place, followed by the solemn Mass at the Cathedral and the reenactment of [the event]. The new year will bring the official arrival of the royal pages to Plaça de Cort on January 3rd, followed by the Three Kings Parade on January 5th, which this year will feature all its newly renovated floats.
