The deputy spokesperson for the government team, Llorenç Bauzá, defended this Wednesday, after the Governing Board, that none of the marketed homes match the seven apartments reserved for the Balearic Housing Institute (Ibavi). As he explained, the characteristics of the advertised properties "do not correspond to those initially processed as public housing," which is why he seeks to decouple the luxury development from the protected apartments included in the project.

The Government is investigating the development

The controversy has intensified after the Government opened an investigation to clarify whether more homes are being marketed than authorized by the building permit, following a complaint from the PSOE. The socialists maintain that, in addition, it is not being adequately reported that part of the development is intended for social housing.

From PSOE Palma, its general secretary, Iago Negueruela, has heavily criticized Cort and the regional Executive. "We reported the development and they said it was fake news and then they sent inspectors to see what was happening," he stated. The socialists demand that order be established in the management of social and limited-price housing, which they describe as a "disaster," and they demand a rectification and public apologies.
