They denounce the accumulation of stranded zodiacs on the sand at Trenc beach

PalmaSeveral users of Trenc beach have reported through an Instagram account the accumulation of various inflatable boats stranded on the sand at the beachfront, a practice that, they assure, has been repeated in recent weeks and which causes concern for both the safety of bathers and the occupation of public space.

The zodiacs parked on the sand are used to transfer people between the beach and yachts or other boats anchored offshore. When not providing this service, the boats remain stationed on the sand, in some cases very close to the bathing area.

Users warn that this situation can pose a risk to swimmers, especially on one of Mallorca's busiest beaches during the summer months. They also point out that the boats occupy space on the foreshore, obstruct the passage of swimmers, and alter the environment of a specially protected natural space.

It should be noted that the Coastal regulations only allow boats to be beached occasionally to facilitate the embarkation or disembarkation of people or for justified reasons. However, the legislation does not provide for beaches to be used as a regular parking space for boats without the corresponding administrative authorization, given that they form part of the public maritime-terrestrial domain.

El Trenc is one of the most emblematic natural spaces in Mallorca and every summer it registers a high influx of bathers, while the nearby waters concentrate numerous anchored recreational boats, which increases the demand for transport services between the coast and the vessels. Precisely, this Sunday the space hosted a human chain to demand that the Government not move towards the dep-protection of the Natural Park, as it is an area that sustains a lot of visitor pressure, especially during the summer.
