Doctors' strike in the Balearic Islands: these will be the minimum services
Health sets the minimum services for the state stoppage of health workers, called from June 15 to 19 against the reform of the framework statute
PalmaThe Balearic Health Service has set the minimum services for the state strike of doctors and A1 group physicians of the National Health System, called between June 15 and 19. The stoppage has been called in protest against the framework statute reform proposed by the Ministry of Health.
During the strike days, hospitals will have to guarantee assistance similar to that of a holiday. This coverage will be reinforced with one additional specialist per medical service during the morning shift in those specialties with admitted patients. In the case of anesthesia, two additional physicians will be incorporated.
Health will also maintain 100% of activity in services considered critical or urgent. This is the case for emergencies, oncology, hematology, dialysis, day hospitals, and hospital pharmacy.
In primary care, health centers will have one doctor and one pediatrician per center during the morning shift. In centers with more than 20,500 health cards, the minimum will be two doctors. In the afternoon, one doctor and one pediatrician will also have to be guaranteed when this service normally exists.
Primary care emergency services, SUAP, and the 061 health emergency service will operate with 100% of their staff throughout the call. Usual on-call guards will also be maintained to attend to extraordinary emergency situations that cannot be handled by on-site personnel.
The strike will begin on June 15 at 00:00 hours and will end on June 19 at 23:59 hours. In centers with multiple shifts, the stoppage will end when the last scheduled shift finishes. Health has specified that no minimum services have been set for resident medical personnel, MIR, due to the specific characteristics of their employment relationship.
