PalmaThe Judicial Police and the Scientific Police are investigating the death of a 64-year-old woman who was admitted to the internal medicine hospitalization unit at Can Misses hospital. The woman was found lifeless this Saturday morning during a check-up visit.

As reported by the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area, the patient had suffered an "episode of marked agitation, with risk to her own integrity." Given this situation, healthcare professionals applied mechanical and pharmacological restraint measures, in accordance with the care guidelines provided for such cases.

Around 11:00 a.m., doctors found her dead in her room. Following the death, the corresponding protocols were activated and the security forces and bodies were notified.

Agents from the Judicial and Scientific Police have traveled to the hospital and have taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances of the death. The National Police explained to EFE that it is being investigated "by protocol" and that, for the moment, "nothing can be confirmed" in relation to a possible involvement of third parties.

The Health Area has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the woman and has assured that it will collaborate "fully" with the authorities while the police and judicial proceedings are carried out.

The health center also noted that it will maintain "maximum prudence and respect" towards the family and the investigation process, and has made all information and security camera footage available to the authorities to help clarify the facts.
