PalmThe president of the Provincial Court's Jury Tribunal expelled from the trial this Monday the accused of murdering his mother-in-law in Colonia de Sant Jordi in September 2024.

It happened at the beginning of the oral hearing after the defendant asked to speak to "plead lack of defense" after his request to change lawyers, from the public defender's office, was not resolved in his favor. The President of the Court reminded the defendant that his request to change counsel had already been dismissed and that, if he wished, he would have the right to intervene and make relevant contributions on Wednesday.

The Magistrate reiterated to the man that if he continued to speak, he would be expelled from the room and returned to the holding cells. At that moment, the man stood up, which forced the agents guarding him to restrain him. At that moment, his expulsion was ordered and the trial continued with the absent defendant. The defendant returned about 10 minutes later on the condition that he remain still and silent.

It should be recalled that the defendant has been admitted to prison for a year and a half when the judge of Instruction Court number 3 of Manacor, on duty, ordered him provisional detention, communicated and without bail.
