PalmThe path leading to the Ufanes springs was found defaced with Nazi symbols on several stones this past weekend. This was reported on Monday by Podemos, who condemned the increase in attacks by the far right in various locations across Mallorca, given that last week they again targeted the bust of Aurora Picornell on the Molinar promenade.

Specifically, the group alleges that the graffiti was the work of Núcleo Nacional, given that the inscriptions are the logo of the far-right group. "The graffiti was painted on the stones of this emblematic natural area, located on the Gabellí Petit public estate in the Tramuntana mountain range," they stated. "We denounce two serious incidents: firstly, the violation of regulations protecting a natural area of great ecological and scenic value; secondly, the presence of far-right groups who, with impunity, spread anti-democratic ideologies such as Nazism," they added.

The party also stated that it reported the incident to the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Forest Management and filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office requesting an investigation into the potential hate crime. These complaints explicitly demand the urgent removal of the graffiti, an investigation by the competent authorities to identify those responsible and apply the corresponding sanctions, and increased surveillance and preventative measures in the area to avoid similar incidents. Since the graffiti clearly depicts the logo of the National Nucleus, the party has requested that the Public Prosecutor's Office open an investigation to determine whether the incident constitutes a hate crime or an attack against democratic memory. They are therefore requesting a detailed analysis of the activities and symbols associated with the fascist group to verify whether these actions fall under the category of far-right behavior that could violate human rights and democratic memory regulations. "This attack, which could end up being considered a crime against the environment and against human rights, is a consequence of a discourse that legitimizes and leaves unpunished the acts of vandalism by the far right," they said.
