Four brothers reported for the state of a plot of land in El Arenal that caused a fire

PalmPalma Local Police have reported four siblings between 58 and 66 years old for not maintaining a plot of land they owned in El Arenal in good condition, an act that facilitated the spread of a fire on February 19 and forced the evacuation of a nearby house.

As reported by the police force in a statement, the events began at 6:39 PM, when the 092 dispatch received a call that a pine tree was burning inside a plot of land located on Carretera Militar, near a dwelling.

When the agents arrived at the scene, several units of the Palma Firefighters were already working to extinguish the flames, which had spread across the abandoned plot. The smoke generated by the combustion began to invade the adjacent house, forcing a rapid response.

For safety reasons, the Local Police proceeded to evacuate the residents of the house and, following the recommendations of the firefighters, advised them to spend the night elsewhere and to ventilate all rooms the following day.

After the incident, the agents initiated procedures through the cadastre to identify the owners of the plot. As a result of the investigation, on March 27, the four co-owners were reported, who will have to jointly assume the responsibilities and the corresponding sanction for not maintaining the land in sanitary conditions.
