Inca intensifies control of dirty plots with fines of up to 9,000 euros

PalmaThe Inca City Council has reinforced actions to require owners of plots in the municipality to keep the land clean and in compliance with regulations. In case of non-compliance, the Council will impose fines ranging from 300 to 9,000 euros and, if the owner continues to fail to act despite the penalty, it will subsidiarily carry out the cleaning work and subsequently reclaim the cost.

As reported by the City Council this Friday, the objective is to prevent risks and ensure a "safe and well-maintained" city, especially during the summer months, when the accumulation of dry vegetation increases the risk of fires.

The Council reminds that abandoned plots also favor the proliferation of rodents and insects, which can lead to public health problems and affect neighborhood coexistence. The Councilor for Urban Planning, Andreu Caballero, explained that the City Council has intensified inspections and requirements for owners to fulfill their obligations. Likewise, he warned that, when this is not the case, the foreseen sanctions will be applied and, if necessary, the subsidiary execution of the cleaning work.

In parallel, the Council has thanked the collaboration of owners who maintain the land in good condition or who temporarily cede it for public use. Thanks to these agreements, several provisional parking lots have been enabled which have made it possible to increase the available parking spaces and keep these areas in good condition.

For this reason, the City Council has encouraged owners of plots without immediate use to consider temporary cession, a formula that, as it highlights, allows the land to be preserved, put at the service of the citizens while they are not urbanistically developed, and expand the parking offer in different parts of the municipality.
