A man and his mother harassed a woman in Palma for years using fake social media personas.
The incidents were reported by a woman who suffered damage to her vehicle and, after an investigation, it was discovered that the alleged perpetration was part of a pattern of harassment.

PalmThe Local Police de Palma is investigating a man and his mother for alleged coercion and damage, after the son allegedly harassed a woman for years by inventing false personalities on social media and received the collaboration of his mother to commit some crimes.
The Local Police Accident Investigation Room has concluded a report for an alleged crime of coercion, in the form of repeated harassment, and another for damage, which has led to the investigation of a man and his mother.
The events were reported by a woman who suffered damage to her vehicle and, after an investigation, it was discovered that the alleged perpetration was part of a pattern of harassment that had been going on since 2020.
Damage to the vehicle
A woman reported at the end of July that her vehicle had suffered damage to the two front wheels while parked on Rafaletes Street.
The complainant, who valued the damage at 225.86 euros, also indicated that this was not the first time this had happened to her, as she had suffered similar damage in January, but had not reported it because she thought it was a random act of vandalism.
Thanks to the complainant's contribution regarding the possible existence of recording cameras, the Police viewed the images obtained from an adjacent building, where a man and a woman could be seen acting suspiciously and watching the vehicle.
Black gloves
The man, wearing black gloves, was crouching next to the right front wheel, while the woman stood watch by his side. The complainant identified the two people as a mother and her son, who had been regular customers at her workplace for years.
Following the identification, the victim filed a second complaint detailing a series of harassment episodes she had suffered since 2020 and requested a restraining order.
Among the reported events, she stated that the suspect contacted her from a fake profile created on a social media platform and harassed her with phone calls, forcing her to change her phone number and job title. In other episodes, he pretended to be other people to try to contact them and obtain personal information.
The police summoned the 32-year-old Spaniard to the police station for an alleged crime of coercion (repeated harassment) and an alleged minor offense of criminal damage. The 61-year-old mother was cited as a co-perpetrator of an alleged minor offense of criminal damage.
Restraining order
The suspects were summoned to appear before the on-call court, where they were issued a restraining order prohibiting them from approaching within 200 meters of the complainant's location, or from communicating directly or indirectly, by any means.
