One man dies drowning and another is seriously injured on a beach in Portocristo
The rescuers have tried to revive the victim without success and the second affected person has been transferred in serious condition to the Levante Hospital
PalmA 56-year-old man has died this Friday and another person has been seriously injured after having difficulty getting out of the water at Cala Mandia beach, in Portocristo (Mallorca).
According to SAMU 061, the alert was received around 2:40 PM, when it was reported that several people were in trouble in the sea. Upon arrival, lifeguards attended to one of the affected individuals, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and immediately began resuscitation maneuvers.
Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams continued with the resuscitation efforts, but ultimately could not save the man's life, who died on the beach itself.
As for the second affected person, they were assisted and stabilized in situ before being transferred in serious condition to the Llevant Hospital.
The circumstances in which the incident occurred are now being investigated.
