A man dies drowned and another is seriously injured on a beach in Portocristo
The lifeguards have tried to revive the victim without success and the second affected has been transferred in serious condition to the Hospital de Llevant
PalmaA 56-year-old man died this Friday and another person was seriously injured after having difficulties getting out of the water at Cala Mandia beach, in Portocristo (Mallorca).
According to SAMU 061, the alert was received around 2:40 p.m., when it was reported that several people were in trouble in the sea. Upon arrival, the lifeguards attended to one of the affected individuals, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and immediately began resuscitation maneuvers.
Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams continued with the resuscitation efforts, but ultimately could not save the life of the man, who died on the same beach.
As for the second affected person, they were assisted and stabilized on-site before being transferred in serious condition to the Hospital de Llevant.
The circumstances in which the incident occurred are now being investigated.
