A man is in serious condition after being hit by a car in Pere Garau Square.
The man has been transferred in serious condition to Son Espases University Hospital.
PalmAn elderly man was seriously injured this Saturday after being run over in Palma's Pere Garau square.
According to SAMU 061, the incident occurred at 10:08 a.m., when an elderly man was seriously hit and trapped between two vehicles. An Advanced Life Support ambulance and a logistics vehicle were dispatched to the scene.
After assisting and stabilizing the man, in situ, the polytrauma code has been activated in Son Espases, due to the severity of the man's injuries, who was finally transferred to the reference hospital in serious condition.
Investigation
Palma Local Police have responded to the area to take charge of the search. According to the police force, a parked car tried to enter traffic and struck another vehicle that was moving correctly. The vehicle that was struck then reversed and struck the 80-year-old pedestrian.
However, as the investigation progresses, the Local Police have provided a new version of events. The injured person is the driver of the vehicle in the first accident, who was moving correctly and got out of the car to inspect the damage and speak to the other driver. Apparently, according to the police force, while the man was out of the vehicle, another vehicle emerged from the parking lot and struck him. The Local Police indicated that the driver became nervous and aggravated the accident with an incorrect maneuver, initially upon noticing the impact.
