More than 1,300 students graduate at the UIB in a massive ceremony at Son Moix

The ceremony has brought together graduates from all faculties and has distinguished 33 students with the extraordinary award for Completion of Studies

PalmaA total of 1,375 students who have completed their undergraduate studies at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) this 2025-26 academic year participated this Thursday in the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Son Moix stadium in Palma.

The graduates of the School of Engineering (178) and the faculties of Science (143), Law (173), Education (320), Economics and Business (88), Philosophy and Humanities (170), Nursing and Physiotherapy (144), Psychology (71), and Tourism (88) attended the ceremony. The 33 students who were distinguished with the extraordinary prize for the completion of studies for the 2024-25 academic year were also recognized.

The ceremony was presided over by the rector of the UIB, Jaume Carot, and the Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, with the attendance of the members of the Governing Council, the deans of the faculties, the director of the Higher Polytechnic School, and the president of the Social Council of the UIB, Antoni Bennasar.

Representing the graduating class were Khaoula Ikkene, a Computer Engineering graduate, and Carlos Alejandro Araque, a Physiotherapy graduate. After the rector's speech, the ceremony concluded with the traditional academic procession, comprising the faculty and university authorities, preceded by the beadles carrying the historical symbols of the Lul·lian University and the University of Palma.
