The weather in the Balearic Islands

Much of Mallorca will be on yellow alert this Tuesday due to temperatures reaching 37 degrees.

The Balearic Islands' 112 Emergency Service has decided to activate the zero gravity index.

PalmThe inland, south, north, and northeast of Mallorca will be under yellow alert this Tuesday because temperatures could reach 37 degrees Celsius. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) plans to activate the alert between 12 pm and 7 pm. Given this situation, the Balearic Islands Emergency Service 112 has decided to activate the zero gravity index (IG-0) of the Meteorological Plan.

The Emergency Services recommend avoiding physical exercise and sports activities during peak hours of sunlight and consuming alcoholic beverages and caffeine. They also remind people of the importance of not leaving children, the elderly, and animals inside cars with the windows down.

To cope with the heat, it is advisable to seek shade, cover your head and wear light-colored clothing, drink plenty of water, eat light meals, close blinds and windows during the hottest hours, and apply sunscreen.

The heat continues.

The Aemet (Mexico Agency) forecasts the heat will continue on Wednesday in Mallorca, especially inland, the north, northeast, and east, where the yellow warning for temperatures up to 37 degrees will remain in effect. It will also extend to the entire island of Menorca, where the thermometer could reach 36 degrees.
