PalmFirefighters in Palma responded Tuesday to a fire in an apartment on the seventh floor of a building on Alexandre Roselló Avenue. One person suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. The fire broke out around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, and local police closed the avenues to traffic to allow firefighters to work. Traffic resumed around 6:30 p.m. According to fire department sources, the fire affected the exterior of a balcony and has since been extinguished. SAMU 061 (Emergency Medical Service) treated five people, one of whom suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. An advanced life support ambulance, a shift supervisor, and a logistics vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Following the fire's extinguishment, firefighters and the building protection service will conduct an inspection of the property on Wednesday to assess any necessary safety measures. According to the City Council, a small fire broke out in the same residence earlier, around 3:00 p.m., but it was already extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. However, a thermal imaging camera was used to verify that the fire was completely out.
