The National Police inspector and the nine others arrested in the anti-money laundering operation in Mallorca have been jailed.
The police operation began on Monday in all offices and homes on the island.

PalmThe judge of Palma's Investigating Court No. 7 has ordered the provisional detention, communicated and without bail, of National Police Inspector Faustino Nogales, arrested as part of a major investigation into money laundering, public health, criminal group, illegal possession of weapons, and bribery.
The criminal organization smuggled cocaine and hashish from North Africa aboard high-powered inflatable boats. They first arranged a collection point somewhere in the Mediterranean, where they would transfer the drugs from the so-called rubber bands to other vessels. From there, they transported the merchandise to Ibiza, where it was stored for a time before being transported to the rest of the Balearic Islands and the Peninsula.
According to reports from the National Police and Civil Guard, the joint operation resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects. Among them are the alleged leader of the gang and leader of the United Tribuns, Stefan Milojevic; National Police Inspector Faustino Nogales; and lawyer Gonzalo Márquez.
1.4 million euros
The seized assets included 1.4 million euros, 11.3 kilos of cocaine, around 100 marijuana plants, four firearms with a large amount of ammunition, silencers, two blank-firing weapons, eight cars, two motorcycles, one jet ski, six luxury watches, and four works of art.
Added to this are the quantities of drugs seized in the previous phases of the investigation, which total 675 kilos of cocaine and several tons of hashish.
According to Europa Press, the judge believes the former police chief of Narcotics informed the suspects that they were under investigation. Furthermore, his name appears in several wiretaps.
Provisional prison
This Wednesday, ten of the detainees were remanded in custody, three of whom will be able to avoid remand if they post bail of €10,000, €3,000, and €2,000. Among those jailed are lawyer Gonzalo Márquez and Stefan Milojevic, leader of the far-right motorcycle gang United Tribuns.
The arrest of the former head of Group II of Narcotics of Mallorca has been carried out within the framework of the operation that the National Police and the Civil Guard have been carrying out since Monday against money laundering in different parts of Mallorca, including Palma.
The operation unfolded this Monday morning and also resulted in multiple searches in various municipalities on the island. At least one involved a law firm. One of the locations targeted by the police was number 8 Paseo de Mallorca in Palma, where the law firm is located.
Several Civil Guard and National Police officers searched the building and seized several boxes of belongings and documents.
